The idea behind Your Own Yoga is to offer an environment for personal yoga practice and supportive rest. It is an alternative concept from the standard model of cued asana instruction.

Your Own Yoga offers facilitated experiences through Supportive practice and our Open Studio concept. It allows everyone the ability to practice their own yoga, at their own pace. A yoga facilitator encourages cohesion while gifting yogis the freedom of their own practice.

Finding Space For Personal Practice

While many of us might desire to have a stronger personal practice, cultivating one can be limited due to space and/or an inadequate environment. Those who cohabitate with family, roommates, or pets may find it hard to create a quiet space for their personal practice. Others may spend a lot of time in their living space and need a place where they can get away. Still, others thrive off the prana generated in a yoga community but seek a space that is more accommodating. Whatever the reason, additional yoga spaces are needed for individuals working on their personal practice.


That is what Your Own Yoga is all about.

Come practice in a space that is set apart from daily life and responsibilities. Re-envisioning how yoga spaces are offered gives individuals a quiet and supportive environment to fully immerse in their personal practice while still maintaining a connection to community. Imagine a space more welcoming of your experiences and personal needs on a given day.

SUPPORTIVE RESTORATIVE YOGA

A Deeper Experince

A 90-minute facilitated experience allowing you time and space for a deep and restful practice. Meditation, pranayama, and other techniques will ready the body for relaxation. Come find deep rest for the mind-body complex. Class begins with gentle intuitive movement to loosen the body and open the heart. Then we hold restorative postures to find supportive relaxation. 

OPEN STUDIO

For What You Need Today

A 60-minute self-directed session devoted to personal practice. Timing and environment will be managed by the yoga facilitator and individuals will be guided into the conclusion of their practice ending in a satisfying savasana.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Seeking Space

I am a seeker of quiet and beautiful spaces. 

 

Recently I have become disenchanted with the limited options and spaces for practicing yoga. I have been seeking a place I could have more freedom to practice on my own, but still feel part of a sangha. A devotional space away from my residence and its distractions. 

 

After completing my yoga teacher training, I wasn't interested in instructing more status quo classes. I also knew that there must be people, who like me, are looking for space where they can do their own yoga and embrace its roots. I aim to create a space for people who want a semi-structured place to practice, but also have the support they need to continuously develop and grow.  

​

I have long sought something I can not find, so I finally decided to create it. I started Your Own Yoga for those of us looking for an alternative or additional space to do yoga beyond highly processed modern classes. Space where individuals can feel comfortable and confident practicing for themselves.
